Julia Berrie, who has championed Scotts of Thrapston as Marketing Manager for 20 years, has stepped down in favour of semi-retirement.
Leading tributes to Julia for her dedication and professionalism over the years, Managing Director, James Scott said: “Over the last few weeks we have been in touch with lots of formers staff and many of the external teams she has worked with over the years and everybody has commented on their enjoyment of working with Julia, her professionalism, enthusiasm, and their sadness at her leaving after two decades with us.
“Julia has been ever present at my time with the company. We have a relationship akin to a brother and a sister! There have been some ups and downs, but I believe I always ended any such interaction, with a renewed level of awe and appreciation of her skills.
“Even though I may not have always communicated it… and in that regard I will finally accept her preferred slur to me, in the words of Captain Mannering… ‘stupid boy’!
“I can already feel the anxiety building at the thought of her empty desk – I hope we will adapt; however Julia’s humour, warm nature, wit and caring will be more than a struggle to replace.
All of us here at Scotts and the people Julia has worked with over the years wish her and her family their very best for the future, she certainly deserves a wonderful semi-retirement.
