The new year has seen two new starters join the team at Scotts of Thrapston bringing a wealth of experience to their departments.
Architectural Technician, David Stirling, has been appointed to the Buildings division and is already adding to the skillset of a busy department.
David, who has more than 25 years of experience, has spent most of his career in South Africa, having returned to the UK five years ago.
He said: “I graduated with a degree in architecture in 1994 and having returned to the UK from South Africa five years ago, I have been gaining experience in timber frame bespoke homes in the self-build industry.
“I have a particular interest in renewable and sustainable architecture, as well as Passive House principles, which timber construction is easily able to offer. I am a Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and am currently finalising my membership with the Architects Registration Board.”
The Trusses division has welcomed Dan Gillick as a Roof Truss and Floor Joist Designer. Dan’s role will involve him creating designs from architects’ and structural engineers’ drawings to provide customers with tailored quotations.
Dan said: “I have been in the timber engineering industry for almost 10 years, working with self-build individuals to national housebuilders.
“I enjoy working with customers to provide them with tailored quotations to suit their specific requirements and budget.”
James Scott, Managing Director of Scotts of Thrapston, welcomed them both to the company.
He added: “I am sure both David and Dan are going to bring a great deal of expertise and professionalism to their respective departments as they become part of the Scott’s of Thrapston team.”
