Relax in one of Scotts distinctively styled premium summer houses, which provides shelter for all year-round use. Our door and window shutters are fitted with lightweight, shatterproof acrylic glazing, which allows you to simply lift off and store on special brackets provided on the side of the building. At the end of the day, simply lift off of the brackets and replace. Or in cooler weather, a great way to provide protection from the elements.

The Balmoral is also one of our few luxury summerhouses that can incorporate the innovative rotating summerhouse base, allowing you to enjoy various views of your garden.

As standard, the Balmoral Summerhouse has a slate effect glass fibre roof, although, at an additional cost, a more natural-looking cedar shingle roof is available. 

Freestanding seating, with storage, and a selection of upholstery and a lounger insert for an instant bed conversion are also a great addition to the Balmoral – to wind down in comfort.

Scotts Summerhouses are very versatile and each detail has been carefully specified.

Dimensions

The Balmoral has a clear 2.0m in diameter plus 120mm roof overhang. 2.0m to eaves height and 3.0m to the top of the ball.

Floor

The Scotts Summerhouse floors are manufactured from PEFC® certified European Redwood which is vacuum pressure impregnated with Osmose Naturewood.

All floors are manufactured using ex 19mm x 125mm pressure impregnated tongue and groove floorboards. Timber joist sizes for the Balmoral is ex 50mm x 38mm.

Doors & Windows

The shutters are slatted and have acrylic sheeting fitted into them to make the Summerhouse more weatherproof.

To make the cleaning of the shutters simple, the acrylic can be removed by simply unscrewing the screws at the top, removing the top of the frame and sliding the perspex out (taking care with sharp edges).

Exterior

The external cladding, wall framing, roof, doors and windows are manufactured from Red Grandis, a sustainably-sourced hardwood from well-managed forests.

The framing is 34mm x 34mm in size and the exterior is manufactured from ex 19mm x 125mm machined tongue and groove boarding.

Paint

All Summerhouses are supplied with an industrial quality paint finish. All of the nail holes are filled and the timber on both the inside and outside of the building is primed.

The microporous paint, in your chosen colour, is applied in a spray finish from the Teknos range. Additional touch up paint is provided with the Balmoral.

Roof

Slate Effect Glass Fibre Roof

Supplied with a one piece moulded slate effect glass fibre roof which has a maintenance free life of 20 to 30 years. This roof provides ultimate protection against UV rays and realistically simulates slate tiles or lead.

Cedar Shingle Roof

Alternatively, for a more natural effect a cedar shingle roof can be supplied. This cedar shingle roof comes complete with a copper finial and requires minimal maintenance. Scotts cedar shingle roofs only use high quality, number 1 grade blue label, Western Red cedar shingles fitted with stainless steel nails. 

A timber frame for the cedar shingle roof is made from stress graded timber with a breathable underlay.

A modified cedar shingle roof is also available to keep the height of the building under 2.5m, to comply with planning regulations, if required.

Upholstery

The upholstery sets are filled with foam cushions. The covers can be easily removed for dry cleaning.

The roof linings, in 100% glazed cotton, are simply fitted into the roof area using curtain wires and hooks.

The upholstery sets including roof lining should, ideally, be stored in a black, airtight bag over the winter months.
