The Burghley Summerhouse is one of our best summerhouses, since the model is perfect for alfresco dining, for use as a studio, entertaining family and friends, a yoga room, or even a home office.
This elegant Summerhouse is manufactured from Red Grandis and is available in three sizes: 2.4m, 3.0m and 3.6m. It is supplied with a paint finish, not only to decorate, but protect the exterior of your building.
The Burghley is supplied, as standard, with three attractive diamond leaded windows on the rear panels and casement windows and lockable doors which can be hooked open to let in the summer heat.
Scotts Summerhouses are very versatile and each detail has been carefully specified.
2.4m Burghley Summerhouse
2.44m in diameter plus 120mm roof overhang. 2.0m to eaves height and 3.0m to the top of the roof.
3.0m Burghley Summerhouse
3.0m in diameter plus 120mm overhang. 2.0m to eaves height and 3.0m to the top of the roof.
3.6m Burghley Summerhouse
3.6m in diameter plus 120mm overhang. 2.0m to eaves height and 3.5m to the top of the roof.
The Scotts Summerhouse floors are manufactured from PEFC® certified European Redwood which is vacuum pressure impregnated with Osmose Naturewood.
All floors are manufactured using ex 19mm x 125mm pressure impregnated tongue and groove floorboards. Timber joist sizes for the Burghley is ex 50mm x 38mm.
A pair of lockable doors is available to the front section of the Summerhouse.
The doors and windows can have brass or chrome ironmongery and are fitted with 6.4mm laminated glass.
The doors come complete with a rebated mortice lock. Brass cabin hooks are fitted to secure the doors when open.
The external cladding, wall framing, roof, doors and windows are manufactured from Red Grandis, a sustainably-sourced hardwood from well-managed forests.
The framing starts from is 41mm x 34mm in size and the exterior is manufactured from ex 19mm x 125mm machined tongue and groove boarding.
All Summerhouses are supplied with an industrial quality paint finish. All of the nail holes are filled and the timber on both the inside and outside of the building is primed.
The microporous paint, in your chosen colour, is applied in a spray finish from the Teknos range. Additional touch up paint is provided with the Burghley.

Lead Effect Glass Fibre Roof
The 2.4m Burghley is supplied, as standard, with a one piece lead effect glass fibre moulded roof which has a long life expectancy. One can easily encourage fungi to grow on the roof to make it more ‘natural’ looking.
Cedar Shingle Roof
Alternatively, for a more natural effect a cedar shingle roof can be supplied. This cedar shingle roof comes complete with a copper finial and requires minimal maintenance. Scotts cedar shingle roofs only use high quality, number 1 grade blue label, Western Red cedar shingles fitted with stainless steel nails.
A timber frame for the cedar shingle roof is made from stress graded timber with a breathable underlay.
A modified cedar shingle roof is also available on the 2.4m and 3.0m to keep the height of the building under 2.5m, to comply with planning regulations, if required.
The upholstery sets are filled with foam cushions. The covers can be easily removed for dry cleaning.
The roof linings, in 100% glazed cotton, are simply fitted into the roof area using curtain wires and hooks.
The upholstery sets including roof lining should, ideally, be stored in a black, airtight bag over the winter months.
A 9mm thick exterior grade, moisture resistant, MDF tongue and groove effect lining, in an Off White painted finish, is fitted to the walls.
